  1. Educational Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree: You must have a Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university or institution.

    • General/Unreserved/EWS: At least 55% marks in your master’s degree.
    • Reserved Categories (OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, Third Gender): At least 50% marks.
  • Eligible Disciplines: Master’s degrees in any discipline such as Humanities, Social Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science, Physical Sciences, Environmental Science, Commerce, etc., are valid.
  • Final Year Candidates: Those appearing in their final year or awaiting results can apply provisionally but must secure the required marks before final admission.

  • Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
    • Maximum age is 30 years as of the first day of the exam month.
    • Age Relaxation: Up to 5 years for OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, Third Gender, and women candidates.
  • Assistant Professor:
    • No upper age limit for applying to this post.
  1. Special Provisions and Relaxations

  • PhD Degree Holders: If you completed your Master’s by September 19, 1991, you get a 5% relaxation in marks (i.e., 50% required).
  • Foreign Degrees: Candidates with foreign degrees must ensure their qualification is recognized/approved by UGC/AIU.
  • Nationality: Indian nationality is required. Documents like Aadhar Card, Birth Certificate, or Passport may be needed as proof.
